I am Ms. Dorothy Young, principal of Wesley Ray Elementary School since 1998. I have 38.5 years of education experience.   Wesley Ray Elementary, formerly Wesley Ray High School, is my alma mater. I received my B.A. Degree from Southern University.  I also received my Master's in Education and my Master's Degree Plus 30 from Southeastern University.  I hold a certificate in the following areas:  

•    Elementary Grades
•    Supervision of Student Teaching
•    Supervision of Child Welfare and        Attendance and/or Visiting Teachers
•    Parish or City School Supervisor of Instruction 
•    Principal

   Our school holds grades Pre-K through fifth.  We have a staff of 48 employees and a student body of 200.  Our school holds academics in high regard.  We believe that every child has the potential to learn and we encourage this learning.  Parents/Guardians are welcome to visit our school.  Parents please meet with teachers during their student special times.  Again, I welcome you to our school and if you have any concerns, please let us know.
